Monofonus Press: Part 1

We're going to do a proper post on record label / multimedia organization Monofonus Press here pretty soon, but in the meantime, here's an event that you all should know about: Monofonus is hosting the record release for Over The Hill's second LP, Looking for a Spark, tomorrow night at The Parish. OTH's sound is a little tough to describe - twangy, occasionally paranoid, but more often calm and soothing. Go give it a listen. I like the song "Ronald Reagan."

This Over The Hill song is titled - appropriately enough, once you see the video - "Possession." You likey?

That was a pretty interesting video. First it looks like she is meeting up with a long lost loved one then realized that she had way to much to drink on the train. Since she forgot to take her meds prior, her schizophrenia sets in quickly. After taking out that pesky wall with her milk bomb she realizes that Marylin Manson is playing a show dedicated to her only, so she obliges them with her sweet thrash dance ending with a full on tribute to G.G. Allen.

I like the song- and the video is a clip from Andrzej Żuławski's Possession- one of my favorite films! Isabelle Adjani is so incredible in this. The most beautiful woman ever, in my book. Even when she's being possessed by milk-demons in the subway!
