The singular delight that is local comic artist, Brad Neely.

So my sister-in-law turned me onto comic/cartoonist Brad Neely last weekend, and I immediately fell in love. How have I not known about this person?

And Reader, are you familiar with Brad Neely? I think I may be late to the program on this one. Everyone is probably already well aware of the man who famously re-envisioned Harry Potter as a child alcoholic, I mean right? And according to Angeliska, Mr. Neely used to work at Toy Joy, where some of his little signs and drawings still lurk about. If you're there, go take a look!

Anyway, here is a little music video by Brad Neely about George Washington.

You like that? Then you'll LOVE what he has to say about possibly the most bizarre Old Testament tale ever, Sodom and Gommorah.

And to think, this artist is OUR local treasure!

I think I'm going to see if Brad Neely would ever be up for an interview on Eavesdropper sometime. What would you ask him?

OMG THIS IS AMAZING. That Sodom and Gommorah clip is the best thing ever. I saw this and I was like "MAAATTTTTT, the guy who did the George Washington movie is from Austin!!". hahaha.

Hey @Diya! Great to have you here. :)

@Michelle - Hahaha right?? When Jen (my sister-in-law) showed me, I freaked out a little bit. You know what else you would like? The Wonder Tonic. RAD BLOG SHE SHOWED ME with the same "off" sense of humor - manifest in an entirely different way though. I think it's a Tumblr, so just google "Wonder Tonic" blog. Oh Michelle, I promise you won't be disappointed.

Rock! I'm so happy you are sharing the Neely-magic far and wide! I think we need to have a screening of the Harry Potter (alcoholic teen wizard) epic. Whaddya say? xoxox A

@Hipstercrite - Your ex boyfriends were more fun than my ex boyfriends. May I trade you Brad Neely for titillating discussions of Sarte?

@Angeliska - This, to me, sounds like a genius plan. I shake my little invisible fist here at Drafthouse with my movie suggestions, but rarely do they take them! However, Brad Neely may be different, being an Austinite and all. Actually, come to think of it...I bet they HAVE done a Brad Neely night before. And my slow ass is just now catching on.
