Window in the sky.

I took this photo yesterday, on a walk in my neighborhood. Hyde Park.

I had to take it quickly though, because their neighbors came out and looked at me funny.

Nice photo!

Being a neighborhood birder, I know ALL about funny looks from neighbors. (Try walking around your block with binoculars around your neck and see what I mean!) But once they meet me and find out what I'm up to it's all good.

@Mikael - Neighborhood birding? Now that is just rad. Where are the best places in Austin to do that, in your opinion?

@Beth - Right! It makes me want to steal the idea, and do the same in our trees. :)

Of course I think my neighborhood is one of the best for birding. :) But the general idea is for people to get out in their own neighborhoods and local parks to see what they can find. Burn less gas, discover new pockets of good wildlife habitat, and make a stronger connection with your local surroundings!

Beautiful photo. This why it's important to look up!

I would look at you funny if you weren't taking pictures of a window in a tree.
